“Pros and Cons of Being a Ginger” is NOT My Best Work!

Okay, here is the thing.

I stalk my blog stats at an unhealthy level, despite my frequent dry spells of posting. Even if I didn’t, there is a HUGE disparity between the average view counts of all of my hundreds of other blog posts and one in particular:

“Pros and Cons of Being a Ginger.”

This is my most viewed post by far. The only thing that even comes close – and it doesn’t come very close at all – is “The Past Tense of William Shakespeare is Wouldiwas Shookspeared.” Those are, in case the titles weren’t telling enough, VERY DIFFERENT content-wise.

Getting blog traffic does not upset me – quite the opposite, naturally. What upsets me is it’s THAT PARTICULAR POST.

I understand why. People search terms like “pros and cons of ginger” or “being a ginger” and my post is a hit. Fine. That makes sense.

But though I understand the reason, that doesn’t make me any happier. That post is from 2015. The ADVENT of this blog. The WORST CONTENT of this blog is held in the 2015 section of the archives, okay. And does that make sense? Yes.

BUT WHEN PEOPLE STUMBLE ACROSS THIS BLOG ACCIDENTALLY, I WISH THEY WOULD STUMBLE ACROSS A DECENT PIECE OF WRITING.

I’m not about to delete it, because it’s important milestone-wise. And it’s nice and validating to read an old piece and see how much better I am now than I was then.

But nuggets, dude. I wish that unsuspecting people would see my good stuff.

That is all.

(I’m gonna get hits on this post now, too. I can feel it. Maybe it will encourage them to look at some actually decent writing? We’ll see).
