The Wind Has Killed My Soul

So, last night we had the windstorm from hell.

It is, apparently, the highest recorded power outage in my state … so, I’m writing this on Microsoft Office Word because I have no internet, and hoping that I don’t run out of battery before I’m done writing it.

We had to camp out in the basement for an hour last night because we have big trees in our backyard, and we weren’t to jazzed with the idea of being crushed if a tree fell on our house. So, naturally, we watched Backyardigans on the last of Mom’s computer battery.

We just spent all day cleaning up from the damage. This is what was up:

This branch missed our house by two feet. It took us a chainsaw and forty-five minutes to clear it out. We were just lucky it didn’t crash through the house.

As you can see, THREE SECTIONS of our fence blew down. We didn’t get around to fixing that today.

AND OMG POWER JUST CAME BACK ON! 5:38 pm AND THE POWER’S BACK ON! YAAAAY! I’LL BE SWITCHING TO THE INTERNET NOW!

Okay on the interwebz now. Back to the damage!

This doesn’t really qualify as “damage,” but the cars were all caked with dust.

And look! This was on the ceiling. I don’t know if you can see it, but it’s an eye, basically. Turns out it was just a flashlight shining through a lampshade, but … illuminati confirmed!

So I’m sore and achey and the windstorm was scary and it sucked and being without power sucked but now the wind storm is over and we have power again and I think I’ll live.

But only if I take a shower. Like, now.

I hope you’re all safe and warm at home, citizens of internet-land. Goodnight.
